Workplace is our focus on supporting all employees. We believe that a good place to work is a safe place to work, making the health and safety and well-being of our people our top priority.
To assist our employees in fulfilling their potential, we signed the Skills Pledge and committed to train over 4,000 of our staff in nationally accredited qualifications by 2011. This commitment recognises our responsibilities to our people and our need to attract, retain and develop talent in an industry characterised by skills shortages.
We continue to set ourselves challenging targets in the workplace:
- Best in class for health and safety
- 4,000 qualified employees by 2011 through the Northern Foods Academy
- 50% of our top suppliers to be members of Sedex by 2010
- Employee survey feedback on 'I am proud to work for Northern Foods' to be above 80% by 2012.
