Northern Foods has an ongoing programme to drive efficient water use.
Each site monitors its use and has a target of 3% year on year reduction. In 2008 we exceeded these targets and reduced use by over 20%. In 2007 our Carlisle site reduced it by 80% (approximately 51,300m³ - equivalent to 112 million pints of water or 2 pints for every person in the UK).
