Educating consumers

With healthy eating high on the agenda, we believe we have a responsibility to support informed choice about how to achieve a healthy balanced lifestyle.

One of our core Healthy balanced lifestyles targets therefore, is to champion the education of people about food and nutrition. We have focused our resources on the sponsorship of a programme called PhunkyFoods  - a primary school programme used to teach 5 to 11 year olds about food and nutrition.

 To further support informed consumer choice, the company also took steps during the year to introduce front of pack nutritional labelling across its branded products, a process which is being implemented on a rolling basis over the next two years. We continue to monitor the debate regarding guideline daily amounts (GDAs) and ‘traffic lights’ labelling.
