Biscuits

Our biscuit business started in 1853 when Michael Spedding made his first batch of Brandy Snaps in a small confectionary shop in Batley, outside Leeds.

Today, we still bake Brandy Snaps in Batley – the difference is we make over 100,000 tonnes of biscuits every year and you can buy them pretty much everywhere in the UK!

We’re the people behind Fox's, one of the UK’s best known biscuit brands and we are focused on market sectors where we have strong positions or unique manufacturing skills which command a premium.

Chunkie Extremely Chocolatey Cookies

Our wide range of great tasting biscuits includes indulgent choices such as our popular Viennese Melts and Chocolatey Shortcake Rounds, chocolate biscuit bars such as Rock y and Echo, 'biscuit barrel' products such as Creams and seasonal assortments such as Favourites and Creations.

We make our biscuits at three sites – Batley, Kirkham and Uttoxeter – employing over 3,000 people in all.

As well as making the Fox's brand we also produce a wide range of own label premium ranges for major UK retailers, wholesalers and independent retailers.

A better class of naughtiness

In the words of one consumer we spoke to 'if you are going to indulge in a moment of pure pleasure, make sure it's as good as it possibly can be' . We couldn't have put it better ourselves.

With many of us pursuing a healthier eating agenda, indulgence means treating ourselves to something special – perhaps with a treat at the end of a hard day or long week. It’s been dubbed the credit/debit balance and, on the back of it, the premium end of the biscuit market continues to grow. We are driving our business forward by making sure that our biscuits hit this inuldgence craving with a 'better class of naughtiness'.

A strong new brand identity rolled out in 2007/08, compelling new pack designs, exciting new product development, combined with focused marketing and promotions are all combining to ensure that more consumers try our biscuits. We know from repeat purchase rates that they come back for more.
